This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their personal information is being used online. The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) apples to the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information about an identifiable individual within a commercial practice. We collect personal information from you when you interact with us, that is when you subscribe to our articles, fill out the contact form, register to use our online calendar or enter other information on our site.
We also collect personally non-identifiable information when you enter our website. This information is collected passively using technologies that cannot be used to specifically identity you. Information collected is pooled together to track information, such as total number of visitors to our site, the number of visitors to each page, and other non-identifying information. Fair Information Practices
The Fair Information Principles under Schedule 1 of PIPEDA form the ground rules for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, as well as for providing access to personal information. These principles give individuals control over how their personal information is handled in the private sector. Understanding the Fair Information Principles and how they should be implemented is critical to comply with privacy laws that protect personal information.
In addition to the principles set out under Schedule 1 of PIPEDA, the Act contains an overriding obligation that any collection, use or disclosure of personal information must only be for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances. This overarching standard of appropriateness of purposes continues to apply, independent from the provisions of Schedule 1 of the Act.
In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices, we will take the following responsive action should a data breach occur:

Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
CASL came into effect July 1, 2014. It is in place to protect Canadians while ensuring that businesses can continue to compete in the global marketplace. It sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.
